Peace

December 24, 2017

Pastor Simon Price brings us Good News of Great Joy! The Peace of Jesus has come, this Christmas Eve, we celebrate the peace that He brings through His birth, death and resurrection. Through this peace, we have eternal life.

This fourth Sunday of Advent we celebrate the peace that is found in Jesus. The Hebrew word ‘shalom’ is translated as peace. Peace is God’s gift of wholeness to his people. Jesus came to bring wholeness to a world that is broken. Jesus restores peace between man and God. Our brokenness is made whole in the birth, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

“and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.” – Colossians 1:20

“Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. For “Whoever desires to love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit; let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”” – 1 Peter 3:8-12
